Born Jan. 17, 1921, in Brothersvalley Township, daughter of the late George Henry and Susan Matilda (Miller) Costea. Also preceded in death by step-father, James Galico, and a step-sister, Pauline Ohler. Survived by husband, Steward S. Slingwine, and daughters, Ms. Carol Slingwine, Naples and Ms. Nancy L. Slingwine, both of Plantation, Fla.; and one grandson, John S. Naples of Orlando, Fla. A sister of George H. Costea, Nick A. Costea and Frederick J. Costea, and Mrs. Betty Genevieve Gabrys, all of Somerset. Stepsister of James L. Galico, Rockwood; Mrs. Idalla Hensel, Johnstown, and Mrs. Ethel Pletcher, Markleton. Retired employee of Edgewood IGA Market. Member of First Christian Church. Friends were received from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and will be received from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, where service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Rev. William J. Sleasman officiating. Interment, St. John's Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Somerset "In-Touch" Hospice, 651 S. Center Ave., Somerset, Pa. 15501.
