Sloan, 74, of Springfield, Va., died June 3, 1980 in Fairfax, (Va.) Hospital. She was born in Salisbury, and was a daughter of the late Urias Brown and Sybilla (Hetrick) Brown. She was a retired secretary for the Department of Justice and a member of the Salisbury Church of the Brethren. She is survived by one son, Philip Sloan, Springfield, Va.; two brothers, Arthur Brown, Grantsville, Md.; Harold Brown, Pittsburgh; one sister, Mrs. Dorothy Imhoff, Alexandria, Va.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home where services were conducted by the Rev. Daniel Whitacre. Interment will be in Salisbury Cemetery. The Republic, June 12, 1980 [S1945]
