  SLOTA
  William Slota, 71, Acosta, died Dec. 27, 1979 at Memorial Hospital,
  Johnstown.  Born Feb. 23, 1908 in Cleveland, he was a son of Andrew
  and Mary (Popowchak) Slota.  Preceded in death by parents, and wife,
  the former Ida Davis, who died Nov. 13, 1967.  Brother of Anna,
  Allentown; Mary, New York; and Steve, married to the former Velma
  Skarupa, Oakdale; two nieces, Lisa and Jennifer; two nephews, Steven
  and Paul; also uncle, Steve Slota, Plainfield, N.J.  Member and
  treasurer of SS Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church, Boswell;
  member of Somerset Aerie 1801 FOE; Somerset Oldtimers Baseball
  Association; Jerome Nest 556, Polish Falcons of America; Jenner
  Township Auxiliary Police; Jenner Rod and Gun Club; state Council of
  Civil Defense; American Association of Retired Persons; and Jenners
  Local 1742 UMW of A.  Former employee of Somerset County
  Courthouse.  Friends received from noon-9 p.m. Friday at the Joseph
  G. Hoffman Funeral Home, 409 Main Street, Boswell, where Parastas
  will be sung at 7:30 p.m. Friday.  Prayer service 8:15 a.m. Saturday
  at the funeral home followed by funeral mass at 9 a.m. at SS Peter
  and Paul Church, with the Rev. John W. Govrusik.  Interment, church
  cemetery.
