EDNA MILLER SMEARMAN

  Edna Miller Smearman died at the home of her father, J. P. Miller, 322 
Keystone Street, Meyersdale, Friday, Jan. 21, after an illness of several years.  
She was bedfast for the past 13 months.
  She was born August 14, 1908, the daughter of J. P. and Sadie (Hoffman) 
Miller.  For a number of years, she had been employed in the local telephone 
office.  She was a member of the Church of the Brethren.
  Surviving besides her father are her husband, Carl Smearman of Detroit, Mich.; 
one son, Charles R., at home; three brothers, Emerson Miller of Johnstown, Jay 
Miller of Garrett, and Earl Miller of Meyersdale, and one sister, Mrs. Richard 
Austin, Meyersdale.  One son, Donald, preceded her in death.
  Funeral services were held at the family home on Keystone Street, Monday 
afternoon at 2:30, the Rev. I. Clifford Paul officiating.  Interment was made in 
the Union Cemetery under the direction of H. R. Konhaus Funeral Home.
