Smearman, 69, of Meyersdale died Feb. 9, 1995, at his home. Born Sept. 13, 1925, in Meyersdale. Preceded in death by his mother, Gertrude (Bowman) Smearman Meese, and stepfather Glenn W. Meese; also a wife, Dorothy Weimer. Survived by his widow, Frances (Dobozy) Smearman; a son, Mark of LaVale, Md.; four brothers: Harry C., and Lloyd D. both of Meyersdale, Homer R. of Struthers, Ohio, and Floyd D. of Salisbury. Sister, Betty K. Patsy of LaVale, Md.; two grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. Veteran of World War II. Member of VFW Post 3504, American Legion Post 112, and former member of the Kelly Corps. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Leckemby Funeral Home, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, with Pastor Robert Stahl. Interment, Union Cemetery.
