Smeltzer, 80, of Parkesburg, formerly of Frazer died March 15, 2000 at the Chester County Hospital in West Chester. She was the widow of the late Alvin E. Smeltzer Sr. who died in 1998. Born in Greensburg, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Jennie Riehl Johnson. A resident of Parkesburg for the past five years, she has lived in Frazer most of her life. She was former member of the Grace Lutheran Church of Malvern. She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. She is survived by three daughters and two sons; Nancy DiObilda of Downingtown; Joyce J. and Ronald J. Smeltzer of Mt. Pleasant; Pamela J. DeHart of Atglen; Alvin E. Smeltzer Jr. of Mahneim, and Ronald J. Smeltzer of Exton. Also 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren. Three sisters: Sara Oakes of Somerset who is her twin sister, Anna Mae Dell of Greensburg, Dorothy V. Mercer of Ocean City, N.J. and a brother Samuel Johnson of Greensburg. Relatives and friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday the time of service at Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg with Pastor James Person officiating. Interment will follow at the Philadelphia Memorial Park in Frazer. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Chester County Association for the Blind, 71 S.
