  EARL W. SMILEY
  
  Earl W. Smiley, 74, Somerset, died Dec. 23, 1971, in Somerset
  Community Hospital.  He was born July 14, 1897, in Summit Township.
  Surviving are his wife, the former Ellen K. Schaeffer, and these
  children: Miles and Mrs. Marian Hepler, both of Reading; Blaine,
  Berlin RD 4; Mrs. Mary Thomas, Berlin; and James of Baltimore, Md.;
  also 19 grandchildren.
  He was a stepbrother of Mrs. Maggie King, Mrs. Clare Wilson, Mrs.
  Cora Stillwagon, Al and Wilbert Hemminger, all of Boswell RD.
  He was an employe [sic] of Seven Springs Farms.
  Funeral service was held Sunday afternoon in Robert H. Halverson
  Funeral Home, Somerset, with Rev. Paul R. White officiating. 
  Interment in Somerset County Memorial Park.
