    Bessie L. Smith, 92, of Stoystown, died Feb. 2, 1996, at Siemon
  Lakeview Manor Estate.  Born Sept. 6, 1903, in Altoona, daughter of
  Charles & Gertrude (Glunt) Davis.  Preceded in death by parents;
  husband Earl; daughter, Dorothy; grandson, Jerry Zimmerman; 2 infant
  grandsons and 5 brothers.  Survived by these children: Elaine
  Zimmerman, Hooversville RD 1, and Lewis, married to the former Nellie
  Brant, Stoystown.  Grandchildren: Christopher Zimmerman, Amy Palya and
  Jane Lowry.  Also 5 great-grandchildren and a sister, Cornelia Davis,
  Orange City, Fla.  Member of Grace Lutheran Church Stoystown.  Family
  will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Deaner
  Funeral Home, Stoystown, where service will be held at 11 a.m.
  Thursday, Rev. Thomas H. Zimmerman.  Interment, Odd Fellows Cemetery,
  Stoystown.  Instead of flowers, memorials may be given to Grace
  Lutheran Church, Stoystown, of the American Foundation for AIDS
  Research, 733 Third Ave., 12th Floor, New York, N.Y. 10017.
