  SMITH
  
    Bruce A. Smith Sr., 80, of Acosta, died May 3, 1984, in Somerset
  Community Hospital.  Born May 18, 1903, in Confluence, son of the
  late Albert and Mary Catherine (Moon) Smith.  Preceded in death by
  parents and one sister, Mary Ellen.  Survived by his wife, Lillian
  (Moore) Smith, and these children: Bruce Jr., Mt. Airy, N.C.; Clyde,
  Pamona, Calif; Vera Jones, Acosta; Betty Jane Bonora, Cuyahoga Falls,
  Ohio; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; sister, Hattie
  Rose and brother, Harvey Smith, both of Confluence.  Member of Acosta
  Church of God, former Sunday School superintendent and Sunday School
  teacher.  Retired coal miner and dock-worker.  Member of the U.M.W.
  of A.  Friends will be received after 7 p.m. today (Friday) in the
  Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home.  Services will be conducted Sunday
  at 1:30 p.m. in the Acosta Church of God, with the Rev. Lovell
  Stallard officiating.  Interment, Beams Cemetery.  Body will lie in
  state in church from 12:30 until hour of service.
