    Bruce Smith Jr., 78, of Mount Airy, N.C., formerly of Acosta, died
  April 16, 2002, in Winston-Salem, N.C.  Born June 2, 1923, in
  Rockwood, son of Bruce and Lillian Smith.  Survived by two children,
  Douglas Smith of Mount Airy and Gloria Bowman of Somerset; three
  grandchildren; sister, Betty J. Bonora of Akron, Ohio and brother
  Clyde G. Smith of Pomona, Calif.
