(Jack) Smith, 73, of 136 Ord St., Salisbury, died Wednesday, July 10, 1996, at St. John's Hospital, Springfield, Mo. Born Nov. 27, 1922, in Meyersdale, he was the son of the late Robert and Maude Mimna Smith. He was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Smith. Mr. Smith was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Meyersdale, Meyersdale Elks 1951, Salisbury American Legion, Meyersdale VFW and the Frostburg Moose LOOM 348. He was a retired foreman with the Pa. Dept. of Transportation. Surviving are his wife, Betty Schramm Smith; one brother, Lawrence Smith of Springfield, Va.; one sister, Mary Keefer of Castle Shannon; three nephews, Timothy Harris, Michael Smith, Rev. Edward Keefer; and four nieces, Teresa McKernan, Kimberly Somers, Joan Estnick and Lois Jean Robertson. Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday, at the Newman Funeral Home, Salisbury. Services conducted at the Salisbury Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 14 with Pastor David Fetter officiating. Interment in Salisbury Cemetery. Daily American, July 13, 1996 [S2003]
