She is survived by three sons; Lewis and Charles, of Pittsburgh, and John I., of Somerset. Nine grandchildren also survive. She is a widow of John I. Smith, who served three years in the John Hiken Company, 102nd regiment of Pennsylvania Veteran Volunteers in the Civil War. The deceased was born June 22, 1855, in Somerset County. Funeral services were Monday afternoon with a brief service held at the home at 1:45 followed by a service at the White Oak Lutheran Church at 2:30. Rev. Howard K. Hilner, pastor of the local Zion Lutheran Church, was officiating minister. Interment followed in the White Oak cemetery with H. R. Konhaus, local mortician, in charge.
