  CLAUDE W. SMITH
  
    Claude W. Smith, 83, Berlin RD 4, died suddenly March 18, 1977 at
  home.  He was born in Brothersvalley Twp.  October 9, 1893, a son of
  the late George and Mary (Hauger) Smith.
    He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Irene J. Deeter; a
  son, Claude Jr.; four sisters and three brothers.
    He is survived by a grandson, George W., Berlin RD 4, and a
  brother, Harry G. of Berlin.
    He was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, the IOOF Lodge
  No. 461, American Legion Post 445, all of Berlin.  He was a WWI
  veteran.
    Funeral services were held Monday at Johnson and Son Funeral Home
  with Rev. Kenneth Swanson officiating.  Interment, Berlin IOOF
  Cemetery.
