  SMITH
  
    Daniel E. Smith, 84, of Pittsburgh died Jan. 28, 1997 at Regency
  Hall Nursing Home in McCandless Township.  He was born March 25, 1912
  in Confluence, a son of the late Daniel E. and Jennie (Field) Smith. 
  Preceded in death by wife, the former Charlotte F. Younkin. 
  Surviving are a son, Daniel E. Jr. of Pittsburgh, and a
  granddaughter, Stacy.  He was a retired shipper for Kelly Drug Co. of
  Pittsburgh.  Friends will be received at the Humbert Funeral Home in
  Confluence on Thursday from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., the hour of
  service, Rev. Thomas Charles officiating.  Interment, Jersey Cemetery.
