  SMITH
  
    Dorothy Elizabeth Smith, 89, of Somerset, formerly RD 3, went to be
  with the Lord May 31, 1999 at Siemon's Lakeview Manor Estate.  Born
  Nov. 27, 1909 in North Hampton [sic] Twp., the daughter of the late
  Moses and Mary (Landis) Leister.  Also preceded in death by husband
  Charles Smith; daughters, Shirley Miller and Kay Frances; sons, Karl
  and Charles Jr.; brothers, John, James and Elwood Leister; and
  sisters, Beulah, Elsie and Martha.  Survived by children: John H.
  Smith of Somerset; James E. Smith Sr. of Hyattsville, Md.; Dean
  Robert Smith of Charlotte, N.C.; Mrs. Dale K. "Chub" (Dorothy
  "Bootsie") Miller of Sipesville; and William R. Smith of Somerset; 33
  grandchildren; 67 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren;
  and brother, Luke Leister of Glencoe.  Member of Bethany United
  Methodist Church.  Former employee of Dorfman Hoffman, retiring after
  20 years of service and member of the garment workers union.  Friends
  received from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the
  Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, Somerset.  Service will be held at
  11 a.m. Thursday in the Bethany United Methodist Church with the Rev.
  Barry K. Ritenour officiating.  Interment in the Mt. Lebanon
  Cemetery.  Contributions may be made to the Bethany United Methodist
  Church.  There will be viewing at the church one hour prior to the
  service.
