  MRS. PHILLIP SMITH
  
    Mrs. Ella B. Smith, 87, of Accident, Md., died Jan 17, 1972, in
  Meyersdale Community Hospital, following an illness of six weeks.
    Born in Accident, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Jane
  (McCrobie) Bowser and was the widow of Phillip Smith.
    Mrs. Smith was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Accident, the Gold
  Star Mothers and the Auxiliary of American Legion Post 208.
    Surviving are eight sons: Charles, Albert, Samuel, Harvey, Clayton,
  Playford, Paul and Melvin Smith, all of Accident; two daughters, Mrs.
  Rosie Moon, also of Accident, and Mrs. Mary Nickelson, Confluence; 17
  grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and two
  great-great-grandchildren.
    Funeral service was conducted Wednesday afternoon in Zion Lutheran
  Church, Accident, with Rev. Harry G. Coiner officiating.  Interment
  in the church cemetery under the direction of Newman Funeral Home.
