  ERMA E. SMITH
  
  Erma E. Smith, 76, Berlin, died May 21, 2004, at Meadow View Nursing
  Center, Berlin.  Born Nov. 12, 1927, in Berlin, a daughter of Ralph
  and Clara (Diest) Engleka.  She is preceded in death by her parents
  and her husband, Lee Smith.  She is survived by a son, Ronald, married
  to the former Diane Snyder, South Park, and granddaughters, Michelle
  E., Pittsburgh, and Cheryl L., at home.  She was a retired bookkeeper
  for the former Lafferty Chevrolet, Berlin. Graduate of Berlin
  Brothersvalley High School and Catherman's Business School,
  Cumberland, Md.  She was a member of the Roxbury United Church of
  Christ, and enjoyed gardening and camping.  Family will receive
  friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Deaner Funeral Home,
  Berlin, where a service will be held 11 a.m. Monday.  The Rev. Ralph
  G. Landis and Rev. Jay E. Shaffer officiating.  Interment Berlin IOOF
  Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be sent to the American Cancer
  Society, Somerset Unit, 168 W. Union St., Somerset, Pa. 15501.
