   Esther M. (Gindlesperger) Smith, 78, Stonycreek Street, Boswell, died Jan. 5, 2007, at
  home. Born July 15, 1928, in Jenner Township, a daughter of John O. and Emma Grace
  (Speicher) Gindlesperger. Preceded in death by parents; sisters, Ruth Elene Gindlesperger
  and E. Fay Livingston; and brothers, Alvin, Orion, Kenneth and Ellis. Survived by her
  husband of 54 years, Robert W.; children, Gary W., Columbus, Ohio; Debra L. married to
  Ronald G. Menser, Somerset; and Timothy R., Marietta, Ga.; grandsons, Christopher and
  Matthew Menser; sister, Ada Adams, Somerset; and numerous nieces and nephews. A 1946
  graduate of the former Boswell High School. Longtime member of Laurel Evangelical
  Lutheran Church, Jennerstown, where she served on council for numerous years, was in
  charge of the prayer chain and belonged to the Knotty Women. A secretary of the CBI
  Veterans Association, Roof Garden Basha for many years. Also a retired secretary for the
  superintendent of North Star School District and the board of the North Star School
  District. Enjoyed flower gardening, cooking and spending time with her family, especially
  her grandsons. Viewing from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Hoffman Funeral Home &
  Cremation Services, Main Street, Boswell. Viewing also from 10 to 11 a.m., time of
  service on Tuesday at the Laurel Trinity Church. The Rev. Jacquelyn S. Ahern,
  officiating. Interment at Jenner Crossroads Cemetery. Memorials to Regional Hospice at
  Windber, 600 Somerset Ave., Windber, PA 15963, would be appreciated.
