Smith, 73, Walker Township, Huntingdon County RD 1, died Feb. 21 at home after an illness of 18 months. Born June 4, 1900 in New Wilmington, the son of Dr. George A. and Edna Williams Smith. Survived by his wife, the former Josephine Duppstadt; a daughter, Mrs. Leonard R. (Shirley) Davidson of Unionville, Pa.; a son Eugen [sic] W. Smith Jr., of Euclid, Ohio; five grandsons; a brother, G. Aten Smith of Terrell, Texas, a sister, Mrs. Theodore (Kathryn) Shrop of Ellicott City, Md. Member of St. James Lutheran Church, Huntington [sic]. He was graduated from Pennsylvania State University class of 1928. Huntingdon plant manager for Supplee-Wills-Jones Milk Co. of Nov., 1943 ot [sic] May, 1952. In May, 1952, he became Huntingdon Wage Tax Collector, a position he held until retirement in 1965. Funeral services 1:30 p.m., Monday in the Brown Funeral Home, Huntingdon with the Rev. Walter S. Smith officiating. Interment Somerset County Memorial Park. Friends received at the funeral home, after 2 p.m. Sunday and until hour of services on Monday.
