  SMITH
  
    Fern (Maust) Smith, 89, Somerset RD 1, died Nov. 29, 1996, at
  Somerset Hospital.  Born May 26, 1907, in Elk Lick Township, daughter
  of the late Nora (Scell) and Leonard Maust.  Also preceded in death by
  one son, Ray Smith; brothers, Warren, Harold, Delmar, Melvin and
  Cecil, and sisters, Avis and Geneva.  Survived by these children:
  Mable, wife of Dale L. Miller, Somerset RD 1; Marie, North Carolina,
  and Harold Richards, Ohio; brothers, Vilis, Somerset RD 5; Gordon,
  Everett; Grover, Arizona, and Ted Maust, Meyersdale; 4 grandchildren:
  Linda, Harry, Kevin Miller, and Rick Smith; great-grandchildren:
  Collin Smith and Bethany Miller; and 1 step-grandchild, Jay
  Christner, Somerset.  Member of Milford United Methodist Church. 
  Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today (Monday) in Robert H.
  Halverson Funeral Home, where service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m.
  Tuesday.  Rev. Randall Bain and Rev. Jay Christner.  Interment, St.
  John's Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to
  Milford United Methodist Church Building Fund or the In-Touch
  Hospice, Somerset Hospital.
