(Gindlesperger) 05/02/08 Daily American The Rev. Frances K. (Gindlesperger) Smith, 68, Windber, died unexpectedly April 30, 2008, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Oct. 14, 1939, in Johnstown, daughter of William and Bertha (Hutzel) Gindlesperger. Preceded in death by parents; and brother, Charles W. Sr. Survived by husband of 47 years, Jerry C.; children, Lorraine E., married to the Rev. Scott Varney, Beaver Falls; and the Rev. Richard L., married to Rhonda Jones, and Crystal J., married to Gary Rowles, both of Windber; grandchildren, Joshua, Timothy and Kayla Varney; Joshua, Josiah, Christa, Joel and Jonathan Smith; and Darren and Ambra Rowles; sisters, Ethel, Married to William Raley, Coal Junction; and Annabelle, married to Nick Kalanish, Cairnbrook; and numerous other relatives. Member of Windber Church of God. A retired minister with approximately 20 years of service, pastoring Cross Keys (Pa.) Church of God, Highspire (Pa.) Church of God and Smithfield (Pa.) Highhouse Church of God. Along with husband, Jerry, formerly had been a co-administrator of Compassion House of the Windber Church of God. Viewing will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Windber Church of God, 2400 Jackson Ave., Windber, where a service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday with her son and sons-in-law officiating. Interment Jenner Crossroads Cemetery. Flowers may be delivered directly to the church between 2 and 5 p.m. Saturday. Arrangements in charge of Hoffman Funeral Home, Davidsville.
