  GEORGE D. SMITH
  
    George Dewey Smith, 82, died Jan. 29, 1981 in Sacred Heart
  Hospital, Cumberland, Md.
    Born in Sand Patch, he was a son of the late Philmore Smith, and
  Susan (Hutzel) Smith.  His wife, Sarah Ann (Geiger) Smith, died in
  1971.
    He was a retired section foreman for the Western Maryland Railway,
  and was a member of United Church of Christ, White Oak.
    He is survived by a son, George Henry Smith, Mt. Savage, Md.; three
  daughters, Mrs. Earl Boyce and Mrs. Ralph Clark, both of
  Corriganville, Md.; Mrs. Robert Kline, Cumberland, Md.; two sisters,
  Mrs. Berdella Housel, Meyersdale; Mrs. Lydia Christner, Meyersdale RD
  4; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
    Friends were received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home,
  Hyndman where services were conducted with the Rev. William H. Bice
  officiating.  Interment will be in White Oak Lutheran Cemetery.
