  George J. Smith, 52, of 230 Juniata St., Boswell was dead on arrival
  March 23, 1977 at Indiana Hospital, Indiana.  Born Nov. 29, 1924 in
  Boswell, son of George and Nannie (Shaulis) Smith.  Preceded in death
  by parents and one infant sister.  Survived by widow, former Agnes A.
  Ratkin and two children: Georgia C., wife of Larry Hemminger,
  Stoystown RD 1; and Nancy P. at home; two grandsons, Robert and
  Michael Hemminger; brother of Lewis, married to former Sara Berkey of
  Erie; Hazel, widow of Elwood Kennell, Boswell; Harry, married to
  former Ferne Howarth, Jenners; Harrison, married to former Alberta
  Speicher, Boswell.  Member of UMW of A, Local No. 1257, Robinson,
  Boswell Volunteer Fire Department; Jenner Rod and Gun Club; Sons of
  Italy Lodge 1780, Boswell.  He was employee of Florence Mining Co.,
  Seward.  Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. to 9
  p.m. Friday at the Joseph G. Hoffman Funeral Home, 409 Main St.,
  Boswell, where service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday with the Rev.
  Samuel E. Charlton.  Interment, Jenner Crossroads Cemetery.
