Smith, 80, Bedford Street, Jenners, died Feb. 21, 2000, at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born Nov. 13, 1919, in Glencoe, son of George and Nannie (Shaulis) Smith. Preceded in death by parents; infant daughter, Cora June; daughter, Joyce Elaine Snow, R.N., who died Feb. 3, 1999; sisters: Hazel Kennell and Sarah Smith; and brother, George. Survived by wife of 60 years, the former Ferne Howarth; children: Frank, married to Doris Bowser, and Lois, wife of David Turner, both of Somerset; and Guy, married to Carol Flowers, Jenners; son-in-law, William Snow, Thomas Mills; grandchildren: Troy Snow, Lon Turner, Tami Skavang, Renee Snow and Chad Smith; great-grandchildren: Kyle, Christopher and Sean Snow and Jessica Turner; brothers: Lewis, Port Lucie, Fla.; and Harrison, Boswell. Member of the Jenner Rod and Gun Club and the U.M.W.A. Avid hunter and fisherman. Attended the Boswell Church of God. Retired miner with 40 years service, last employed at the Florence #1 Mine, Bolivar. Friends received from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Hoffman Funeral Home, Main Street, Boswell, where service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, with the Rev. Gregory Stauffer officiating. Interment, Jenner Crossroads Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Heart Assoc., 400 Luray Avenue, Johnstown, Pa. 15904.
