   Hazel J. Smith, 73, Berlin, died July 5, 2008, at Somerset Hospital. Born Sept. 24,
  1934, in Lincoln Township, the daughter of Zachariah H. and Florence (Burkholder) Conn.
  Preceded in death by parents; son, Dale Ernest Smith; and sisters, Jacqueline Conn and
  Dorothy Baker. Survived by her husband of 54 years, Earnest B.; mother of Wanda, married
  to Randy Bussard, Berlin; and grandmother of Alexis and Jared Bussard. Sister of Bruce
  Conn and wife, Helen, Berlin; Nelda Magnetto, twin sister, Helen, married to Joseph
  Hillegas and Paul Conn and wife, Marline, all of Somerset; and Robert "Butch" Conn,
  Berlin, who she took care of for 22 years. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
  Attended Beachdale Church of the Brethren, where she was involved in Women's Fellowship
  and was famous for her pies, gobs and peanut butter fudge. She was an avid card player
  and active in ladies card club. She was loved by many for her fun loving way and often
  described as "special." Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday
  at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin. Viewing from 1 p.m. until time of service, 2 p.m.
  Wednesday at Beachdale Church of the Brethren. The Rev. Terry Clark and the Rev. Wanda
  Clark officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may
  be given to the American Cancer Society, 168 W. Union St., Somerset, PA 15501.
