    SMITH
    
      Mrs. Helen Rita Smith, 72, of 33 Columbia Ave., Takoma Park, Md.,
  formerly of Somerset County, died June 24, 1990, at Washington
  Adventist Hospital in Takoma Park.  She was born Jan. 19, 1918, in
  Pittsburgh, daughter of the late Archibald N. and Catherine E.
  (Lehman) Faupel.  Preceded in death by husband, Charles E. Smith. 
  Survived by these children: David E. Smith of Warwick, R.I.; Susan R.
  Johnston of Fairhope RD, and Leah J. Gomez, Alexandria, Va.; also 4
  grandchildren.  Sister of Mrs. Louise Garr of New Castle, Mrs. Mary
  Catherine Boulanger of Ocala, Fla., and Paul F. of Rockville, Md. 
  Member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, Takoma Park.  Mass of
  Christian Burial will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, June 28, in St. John the
  Baptist Catholic Church, New Baltimore, Rev. Barry Baroni.  Interment,
  church cemetery.  Arrangements by Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home,
  Schellsburg.
