  October 27, 1931 - November 15, 2008
  
    Helen V. Smith, 77 of Meyersdale, died November 15, 2008 at Conemaugh Memorial 
  Medical Ctr. Johnstown.  She was born October 27, 1931 in Meyersdale, daughter 
  of the late Roy and Leora (Gnagey) Maust. Also preceded in death by her husband 
  Jack W. Smith, June 6, 2000; and two brothers, Harry Maust and Dale Maust.
    She is survived by two sons: Michael R. Smith, and his daughter Elizabeth 
  Michaela, Elmira, NY; and Mark R. Smith and his wife Beth, Johnstown. A sister 
  of Thelma Durst, Meyersdale; and Pearl Brugh, Rockwood.
    A member of the First United Methodist Church Meyersdale. She retired from the 
  Citizens National Bank in Meyersdale with 30 years of service. Helen was a Maple 
  Princess in the first PA Maple Festival.
    Friends were received Monday at the Price Funeral Home Meyersdale. Service was 
  conducted Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. David 
  Bowman officiating. Interment Meyersdale Area Union Cemetery.
    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Helen V. Smith Memorial 
  Fund, First United Methodist Church, 336 Main St., Meyersdale, PA 15552.
