  J. WILLIAM SMITH
  
    J. William Smith, 77, of Berlin, died Friday, April 1.  He was born
  Jan. 11, 1887 in Southampton township, a son of the late Samuel and
  Kasiah May Smith.
    He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary McDonough Smith and two
  daughters.  Surviving are three sons and a daughter: James M. and
  Charles W. of Berlin; Harry M. Smith and Mrs. Betty Mae Walters of
  Washington, Pa.; ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren;
  also two sisters and a brother: Mrs. Cora Coughenour and Levi Smith
  of Detroit, Mich., and Mrs. Pearl Bingner of Berlin.
    He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ.  The funeral
  was held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in Johnson and Son Funeral Home, the
  Rev. Randall L. Heckman officiating.  Interment in Berlin IOOF
  Cemetery.
