  JAMES M. SMITH
  
    James M. Smith, 61, of 503 Main St., Berlin, died Jan. 19, 1974, at
  Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh.  Born July 16, 1912, in Connellsville, he
  was a son of the late J. William and Mary (McDonough) Smith.
    Surviving are his wife, the former Alverda Brick; a daughter, Mrs.
  Arthur (Doris Jean) Caton, Carnegie; three grandchildren; two
  brothers, Charles W. Smith, Berlin, and Harry M. of Clendenin, W.Va.;
  and a sister, Mrs. Walter (Betty Mae) Walters, of Washington, Pa.
    He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ and Berlin
  Volunteer Fire Department.
    Funeral service was held Monday afternoon in Johnson and Son
  Funeral Home, Berlin, with Rev. Charles W. Sigler officiating. 
  Interment in Berlin IOOF Cemetery.
