  JAMES R. SMITH
  
    James R. Smith, 60, Berlin, died March 21, 1977, at Memorial
  Hospital, Johnstown.  Born Feb. 5, 1917, in Hollsopple, he was a son
  of the late Thomas and Fannie (Thomas) Smith.
    He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
    He is survived by widow, Twyla, and daughter, Kathy Malinovsky.  He
  was a brother of Mrs. Clara Reed, Hollsopple; Mrs. Alberta Berkebile,
  Hollsopple; Viola Hershberger, Indiana; and Wilma Gindlesperger,
  Richland Township.
    He was an automobile and truck mechanic.
    Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at Thomas P. Read
  Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Callihan officiating.  Interment,
  Custer Cemetery, Hollsopple.
