  SMITH
  
  Jean L. Smith, 61, of 4048 Wilson Ave., Rootstown, Ohio.  Died
  Saturday following a lengthy illness.  Born Sept. 9, 1927 in
  Somerset, the daughter of Clyde Carns and Eva (Gross) Carns. 
  Survived by a daughter Mrs. John (Linda) Barnett of Rootstown; one
  grandson; sisters Grace Lape of Listie and Helen Blystone of
  Rockwood; a brother Glenn Carns of Somerset; as well as several
  nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by her husband, John L. Smith
  Aug. 14, 1986; two infant children.  There will be no calling
  hours.  Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Grandview Memorial
  Park Chapel, Rootstown.  The Rev. Mike Freeman officiating.
