  SMITH
  
    John C. Smith, 67, of Somerset RD 5, died June 1, 1979 in
  Meyersdale Community Hospital.  Born April 29, 1912 in Garrett, he
  was the son of the late George and Gertrude (Bittner) Smith.  He was
  also preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers.
    He is survived by wife, the former Hazel Lafferty and by sister,
  Velma Geisler of Townsend, Mass.
    Friends were received at the Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home, where
  service was conducted with the Rev. John Cox officiating.  Interment,
  St. John's Cemetery.
