He is survived by three sisters: Maggie, who was his life long companion, and housekeeper since the death of the parents; Emma, who resides next door in the Dively home, for years being the housekeeper of her sister, the late Mrs. Eliza Dively; and Mrs. Mary Grant of Pittsburgh; also by one brother, believed to be living in Ohio. Funeral services were conducted at 3:30 Sunday afternoon in the Dively home by Rev. Nelson C. Brown, pastor of Amity Reformed Church, followed by interment in Union Cemetery under the direction of H. R. Konhaus, undertaker. John Henry Smith was an electrician and lineman and was one of those who helped to put the first electric power system in Meyersdale, a business project of the late S. D. Livengood. Mr. Smith retired from active work several years ago when his health failed him. He was an invalid for the last two years. Meyersdale Republican, December 24, 1942
