LOUISE SMITH

  Mrs. Louise Smith, wife of Daniel Smith of Confluence, R.D., died December 4, 
1945.  She was born in Garrett County, Md., November 28, 1871, a daughter of 
Jacob and Mary Becket.  At the time of her death her age was 74 years and 5 
days.
  Besides her husband she is survived by the following children: Lawrence and 
Herbert of Confluence, Lloyd of Rockwood, Frederick of Accident, Md., Mrs. Nora 
McClintock of Fort Hill, Mrs. Effie Gower of Confluence, Mrs. Mabel Davis of 
Addison, and Elsie and Ernest, at home; also surviving are twenty-one 
grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, three sisters and four brothers.
  She was a life-long member of the Lutheran Church, Cove, Md.  Following a 
short service at the house, the funeral service was held in St. Paul's Lutheran 
Church, Addison Township, on Friday, Dec. 7.  The Lutheran pastor, Rev. Jerome 
V. Guss, was in charge.  Burial was made in the church cemetery.
