Smith, formerly of Cleveland, Tenn., died Oct. 16, 1996, at the Coffman Nursing Home, Hagerstown, Md. Born Oct. 26, 1906, in Paduka [sic], Ky., she was the daughter of the late Pentecostal evangelist Rev. David R. Moreland and Agnes (Twigg) Moreland. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert T. Smith of Hagerstown, Md. Rev. Smith received her ministerial license in 1936 and traveled extensively with her father for many years as an evangelist and pianist. Rev. Smith also held a pastorate in the Saxton (Pa.) Church of God for 16 years. Upon her retirement, Rev. Smith resided in Cleveland, Tenn., where she became an active member of the North Cleveland Church of God until December 1993. Rev. Smith is survived by one sister, Ollena Lykens, wife of Rev. David Lykens of Somerset; one niece, Retta Lykens of Hyde Park, N.Y.; a beloved aunt, Daphne Twigg Brann, Holiday, Fla.; several great-nieces and nephews, and a number of cousins. Friends will be received at the Kight Funeral Home, 309-311 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Friday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., with the funeral services immediately following the visitation.
