Smith, widow of the late John M. Smith, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. B. L. Bittner, of Pittsburgh, on Monday, Jan. 12, at the age of 78 years and 9 months. Her remains were brought to Meyersdale Thursday noon. Interment was made in the Union Cemetery. Funeral Director J. L. Tressler was in charge of the burial arrangements. Mrs. Smith was a resident of Salisbury during the early period of her married life, and of Meyersdale for many years before she went to Pittsburgh to live with her daughter, her only child. Her husband died in the Somerset County Hospital about five years ago. Mrs. Smith had many friends in the various places in which she lived. She was a good wife and mother and a kind neighbor.
