Born Nov. 11, 1911, in Penn. Son of the late William and Nellie (Dudek) Smith. Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Joseph, Stanley and Frank; and sister, Helen. Survived by his wife, Julia (O'Hara); daughter, Dona, wife of Gordon D. Reynolds, Boswell; and son, Richard M. Smith, Somerset; grandchildren, Gina and Christopher Reynolds. Brother of: John, Quecreek; Andrew, Virginia Beach, Va.; Walter and Edward, Tonawanda, N.Y.; and one sister, Mary Zuravnsky, Quecreek. He was a member of St. John's Roman Catholic Church, Acosta. Veteran of W.W.II; retired coal miner for Saxman Coal and Coke Co., Quecreek. Death terminates a marriage union of 41 years. Friends will be received 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Friday (today) in Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, where wake service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday 10 a.m. in St. John's Roman Catholic Church, Acosta, the Rev. Benjamin Dykas officiating.
