  SMITH
  
  Mary Ellen Smith, 83, of Meyersdale, formerly of Berlin, died Oct.
  17, 2001, at Beverly Health Care, Meyersdale.  Born Oct. 26, 1917 in
  Brothersvalley Township, daughter of Guy H. and Bertha (Blough)
  Smith.  Preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, George M.
  and Walter G. Smith.  Survived by one niece and two nephews.  She was
  a graduate of Frostburg University and a retired Berlin Brothersvalley
  Elementary School teacher, teaching from 1939 to 1975.  Member of Holy
  Trinity Lutheran Church, Berlin, and a member of the Berlin Historical
  Society.  Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
  Friday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, where services will be held at
  2 p.m. Saturday, with Rev. Glenn P. Foster and Rev. Ralph G. Landis
  officiating.  Interment, Berlin IOOF Cemetery.  Memorial
  contributions may be sent to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Berlin,
  Pa. 15530.
