  SMITH
  
    Michael J. Smith, 26, of Buffalo Mills RD 1, died March 18, 1996,
  at Memorial Hospital of Bedford County as a result of an automobile
  accident.  Born Dec. 10, 1969, at Honolulu, Hawaii, he was the son of
  Jerry P. and Donna J. (Miller) Smith, Buffalo Mills RD 1.  Mr. Smith
  was a journeyman pipefitter with Plumbers and Pipefittes Local 354,
  Latrobe.  He was a 1987 graduate of Chestnut Ridge High School and
  had attended Allegany Community College.  He was an assistant fire
  chief with the New Baltimore Volunteer Fire Department and a member
  of the New Baltimore Sportsmans Club and the Kennells Mills Sportsman
  Club.  On June 12, 1993, at Manns Choice, he married the former
  Stephanie D. Shaffer.  In addition to his parents and his wife,
  surviving are a daughter, Courtney Lyn Smith; twin sisters, Michelle
  L. and Dawn R. Smith, both of Buffalo Mills RD 1; maternal
  grandparents, Pearl R. (Ritchey) and Ray G. Miller, Hyndman; paternal
  grandparents, Pauline J. (Judy) and Robert E. Smith, Titusville, Fla.;
  an uncle, Donald Smith, Merritt Island, Fla.; and an aunt, Suzanne
  Chutis, Titusville, Fla.  Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m.
  Wednesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Harvey H.
  Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, where services will be conducted at 2
  p.m. Friday, with the Rev. Terry L. Campbell officiating.  Interment,
  Madley Cemetery.  Memorials may be sent to the New Baltimore Fire
  Volunteer Fire Department Building Fund, New Baltimore, Pa.
