    Mildred H. Smith, 91, Wilmington, Del., formerly of Berlin, died
  March 17, 1997, at Christiana Hospital, Newark, Del.  Born June 20,
  1905, in Dover, Del., daughter of Herman H. and Edith (Roe)
  Hastings.  Preceded in death by parents; husband, Harry G.; sister,
  Roxanna Hodge, and brother, Charles Hastings.  Survived by daughter,
  Joyce, married to James Holman, of Wilmington, Del.; granddaughter,
  Julie and grandson, James Jr.  Sister of Marjorie Wilson of Dover,
  Del.  Member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Berlin.  Family will
  receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Deaner Funeral Home,
  Berlin, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Rev. Melvin A.
  Kirk Jr. officiating.  Interment, IOOF Cemetery, Berlin.  Memorial
  contributions may be given to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Berlin.
