SMITH Owen Clay Smith, Sr., 85 of 512 Regina Avenue, died July 3, 1982 in Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Md. He had been ill for a year. Born in Inglesmith, Pa., he was a son of the late Ingle Smith and Laura (Clingerman) Smith. His wife, Cindrilla (Smith) Smith died in 1976. He was a retired employee of the American Oil Company, Cumberland; was a member of Aerie 245 FO Eagles and the Senior Citizens Club. He is survived by two sons, Owen C. Smith Jr., Baltimore, and Allen R. Smith, Bedford Road, Cumberland RD 3; two daughters, Mrs. Roberta Brandt, Washington D.C., and Mrs. Thelma Valentine, Cumberland; two brothers, Warren Smith, Cumberland and Elwood Smith, Inglesmith; two sisters, Mrs. Vera Shipley, Cumberland and Mrs. Edna Jay, of Finzel; eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. The Silcox-Merritt Funeral Residence was in charge of arrangements. Services were conducted in Fairview Christian Church. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. The Republic, July 8, 1982 [S2165]
