  SMITH
  
    Ruth E. Smith, 88, of Friedens RD 2, died Nov. 10, 1984 at Somerset
  Community Hospital.  Born Sept. 19, 1896 in Stonycreek Township,
  daughter of Jefferson D. and Emma (Weigle) Landis.  Preceded in death
  by parents; sisters, Bessie and Mrs. Grace Mowry; brothers, Lewis,
  Morris, Harry and George.  Survived by her husband of 66 years, Harry
  E.; and these children: Mrs. Garner (Marian) Pritz, Berlin; Mrs.
  William J. (LaVerne) Page, Shanksville; Mrs. Derwood (Lois)
  Hinebaugh, Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.; six grandchildren; six great
  grandchildren.  She was a sister of: Everett of Shanksville; Leroy of
  Friedens RD 2; John of Berlin; Mrs. Merle (Nannie) Long of Friedens. 
  Numerous nieces and nephews.  She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran
  Church, Shanksville; Trinity Chapter No. 138, Order of Eastern Star,
  Somerset; former member of Fourth Society of Farm Women.  Family
  received friends Sunday and will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9
  p.m. Monday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where services will be
  held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, the Rev. Patricia Harrington officiating. 
  Interment, Walker Cemetery, Shanksville.
