WILLIAM A. SMITH

  William A. Smith, 82, of Berlin, died at Somerset Community Hospital, Friday 
evening, having been admitted Friday morning.  He had been in failing health for 
the past year.
  Mr. Smith was born in Allegheny Township December 3, 1865, the son of Charles 
and Carolina Smith.
  He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Alice Muhlenburg Smith, and the following 
children: George H. Smith and J. Arthur Smith of Pittsburgh and Mrs. Clyde Houpt 
of Somerset; also by two grandchildren and one great-grandchild and these 
brothers and sisters: Fred Smith of Berlin; Charles Smith of Meyersdale; Harry 
Smith and Mrs. Annie Custer, Allegheny Township.
  Funeral services were held Monday, May 17, at 2:30 p.m., in the Johnson & Son 
Funeral Home.  Rev. Robert S. Nagle officiated.  Interment was made in the 
I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Berlin.
