All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ ________________________________________________ HENRIETTA SMOUSE Mrs. Henrietta Smouse, 82, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. James Layman, Long Stretch, July 4th, at 10:30 p.m., as the result of injury to her pelvis by a fall about two months ago. She was cared for at the Layman house since the accident. Funeral services were held at 10:30 Tuesday morning, in St. Stephen's Catholic Church, Grantsville, the rector, Rev. Father David officiating. Interment in the Grantsville cemetery. She was born at Little Crossings June 6, 1885, the daughter of Francis and Mary (Layman) McKenzie, and spent most of her life in Grantsville. Surviving are the following children: Mrs. Robert Redfoot, Sharon, Pa.; Mrs. Jack Silbaugh, Youngstown, Ohio, and Mrs. Layman in whose home she spent her last days. Surviving also are 13 grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Della Jordan, Greenville, Pa., and a brother, Thomas McKenzie, of Grantsville. Meyersdale Republican, July 10, 1947
