  MRS. RUTH SMOUSE
  
    Mrs. Ruth Frances Smouse, 78, 155 Bedford St., Cumberland, died
  Nov. 2 in Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville, where she had been a
  patient since November 1965.  She was in failing health for the past
  several years.
    Born in Grantsville, she was a daughter of the late William P. and
  Annie (Durst) Stanton.
    Formerly a cashier at the Maryland Theatre, Cumberland, she was a
  member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and the Plus Sixty Club in
  Cumberland.
    Surviving are two sons, Thomas S. Smouse, Everett; and William F.
  Smouse, Annapolis; two brothers, Hubert and Guy Stanton, Grantsville;
  a sister Mrs. Ethel Miller, Frostburg; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great
  grandchildren.
    Funeral service was conducted on Friday afternoon at Hafer Funeral
  Home, Frostburg, by Rev. John F. Sammel.  Interment was in
  Grantsville Cemetery.
