(Chub) Snowberger, 82, 305 Allegheny St., Boswell, died Dec. 23, 1978, at Windber Hospital. Born Nov. 1, 1896, in Shanksville, he was a son of Irvin and Rose (Baldwin) Snowberger. Preceded in death by parents; sister, Mrs. Margaret Durst; and brother, Edward. He is survived by widow, the former Nellie Myers; daughter, Sarah, wife of Joseph Zahar, Boswell; grandson, Claude Zahar, Boswell; brother, Hilton, Easton, and a sister, Mrs. Grace Ickes, Jenners. He was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, Boswell. Veteran of WW I, he was a charter member of the Boswell American Legion Post 461, member of Boswell Volunteer Fire Department and the Jenner Rod and Gun Club. Owner of former Snowberger Garage, Boswell. For many years prior to that he was employed by B. J. Maurer Motor Co., Boswell. Celebrated 59th wedding anniversary Nov. 1, 1978. Friends were received from 7-9 p.m. Monday and will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Joseph H. Hoffman Funeral Home, 227 Allegheny St., Boswell, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. W. James Legge officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.
