The man's lifeless body was found about twenty minutes afterward by a hunting companion, Luther Miller, of near Grantsville, with whom Albert Jones, of Fairchance, Pa., and Mr. Snyder were hunting foxes on the Joel Beachy farm located on Negro Mountain. From appearances and the fact that the body was found by a stump it is presumed that Mr. Snyder had climbed upon it and in drawing his firearm toward him the hammer caught on the bark and caused the gun to be discharged. His companions heard the report of the gun, but thought he had fired at a fox or some other animal, and did not at once go to the point where he was. Undertaker Wm. Winterberg of Grantsville took charge of the body and prepared it for burial. The funeral took place at his late home Sunday morning, with interment in the family cemetery on the farm. Snyder is survived by his wife, four sons, Ellis, Sherman, Elmer and Irvin, and six daughters, Mrs. Charlotte Platter, Mrs. Carrie Beitzel, Mrs. Cynthia Beitzel, Mrs. Ella Wiley, Mrs. Ethel Ohler and Thelma, also married, but whose husband's name could not be learned, all of them residing in the Bittinger community. He is also survived by one brother, Adam Snyder. He was a member of the M.E. Church. Meyersdale Republican, February 20, 1930
