Born Oct. 21, 1888 in Paddytown, Somerset County, son of Peter James and Victoria (McClintock) Snyder. Preceded in death by parents, three brothers and seven sisters. Survived by widow, the former Bessie Elma Brown, and the following children: Mrs. Harold (Blanche Ferne) Wentz of Stoystown; Amos D. of Bedford; and Sister Dorothy Evelyn of Mont Claire; five grandsons; and eight great grandchildren. Brother of Mrs. Toylie Shaffer of Hooversville RD 1. A retired Quemahoning Township farmer and general building contractor. Member of the Horner Lutheran Church and District Council 142 Brotherhood of Carpenters and Jointers of America. Death ends a marriage union of 66 years. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. Remains will be removed to the Horner Lutheran Church to lie in state from 1 p.m. until services at p.m. Friday, the Rev. William H. Snyder officiating. Interment, Odd Fellows Cemetery, Stoystown.
