Snyder, 76, Markleton, died Sept. 6, 1997 at Somerset Hospital. Born April 7, 1921, in Markleton, a son of the late Roy P. and Marvel (Bittner) Snyder. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Leroy Paul. Survived by his wife of 59 years, Cleo (McClintock) Snyder; daughter, Marjorie, married to Ray Mull; granddaughter, Melissa, married to Terry Pletcher; grandson, Mark, married to Michelle (Nickleson) Mull; and great-grandsons: Chad Pletcher, Joshua and Matthew Mull, all of Rockwood; step-great-granddaughter Jennifer Marlow and step-great-grandson Cody Marlow, both of Fayetteville, N.C.; sister, Betty Stracke, of Honolulu, Hawaii and nephew George Stracke, of Texas; sister-in-law, Dorothy Conn and nephew, Barry Conn, both of Somerset. He was a lifelong resident of Markleton. Retired storeowner and postmaster for 42 years. U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, charter member of Rex Critchfield Post 946 American Legion and member of National League of Postmasters. Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., today and from 10 a.m. until hour of service at 11 a.m., Tuesday at Humbert Funeral Home, Confluence. Rev. Tim Show and Rev.
