  Hillis M. Snyder, 58, of Friedens, RD 2, died Dec. 17, 1977 at
  Somerset Community Hospital.  Born Aug. 17, 1919 in Stoneycreek
  Township, son of Roscoe H. and Ada M. (Miller) Snyder.  Preceded in
  death by parents and brother Herbert.  Survived by widow, the former
  Catherine Mostoller, and these children: Mrs. Richard (Carol) Pyle of
  Shanksville; Michael of Friedens RD 2; Gail at home.  Also one
  granddaughter.  Brother of Ida G., and Mrs. Carl (Ruth) Hetrick both
  of Friedens RD 2; Ernest R. and Elbert P., both of Denver, Colo.;
  Vernon D., of Central City RD 1; Edgar G., Midland; Williard J. of
  Stoystown RD 1; Roscoe C. of Cleveland, Ohio; and Mrs. James (Irma)
  Heiple, Somerset RD 5.  Employed by Somerset Candy Co.  Member of
  Shanksville United Methodist Church and Wills Grange.  Family will
  receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Deaner
  Funeral Home, Stoystown, and until noon Wednesday.  Remains will be
  removed to Shanksville United Methodist Church to lie in state from 1
  p.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. Wednesday, The Rev. Marlin A.
  Miller officiating.  Interment, Glade Cemetery.
